How much do you love your BMW R 18? If the answer is "a lot," then let me ask you this. How much do you love a premium espresso experience? If your answer to both of these questions is yes, and you've also thought that they're two great tastes that could taste great together, then the fine folks at BMW Motorrad and ECM Manufacture may have created exactly the machine of your dreams.
Or, to be more specific, about 80 of 'em.
The ECM x BMW Motorrad Big Coffee Boxer is a special, super-limited-edition espresso machine that's made from real R 18 Boxer parts. High-end espresso machine specialist ECM took those Boxer parts and brought them together with its well-regarded, tried and true E61 brew group to formulate an extremely special espresso machine.
It made its worldwide debut at the 2025 edition of BMW Motorrad Days, caffeinating visitors with a one-of-a-kind experience (well, at that point). It won't stay one-of-a-kind for long, though, as ECM will be selling an exclusive run of just 80 of these machines to interested fans as part of its Exclusive Line (that's really what it's called) at certain of its retail locations.
As a sculptural piece, it's no doubt an incredible thing of beauty, and it probably looks even more incredible in person (especially the cylinder-mounted pressure gauges). Unsurprisingly, it's a hefty and tactile thing, weighing in at 64 kilograms (about 141 pounds), so you'll probably want a friend and/or an engine hoist to help you get yours into position, should you choose to purchase one.

Each one is assembled by hand, and ECM warns that there may be a waiting period involved if you choose to purchase one. If you've already guessed that the Big Coffee Boxer costs a pretty penny, then I'll tell you some good news: It will, in fact, cost less than the price of a brand new 2025 BMW R 18!
How much is it? Each of ECM's planned 80 units carries a hefty MSRP of €7,900, which works out to about US $9,206 at the time of writing. That price does include a 19% VAT charge, though, so that's something to bear in mind if you don't live in Europe.
