Do you think Manchester is the 13th best city in the world?

A recent poll from Time Out revealed that Manchester had been voted as the 13th best city in the world, getting ahead of the likes of London, New York and Tokyo.

The magazine asked 20,000 residents from 53 cities across the globe about life in their hometown. And, Manchester ranked particularly high on friendliness.

Following the stellar verdict from Time Out, we want to know what you think.

Finishing as the highest English city in the poll, Manchester was commended for its "ever-welcoming landscape of restaurants, bars" and its "top-notch culture". But, not everybody was in agreement with the verdict.

Responding to the MEN's story on the result, one commenter said: " It's great but not that great. Not until affordable housing, affordable public transport, green spaces, pollution control and real equality are instigated."

Another person also added: "I’m from Manchester and whilst I love being a Manc...there’s much wrong with our city. It’s very dirty. Litter everywhere. Needs a good clean and to look like it’s 'loved'."

However, there were some less downbeat views on the Capital of the North, with one reader commenting: " What makes Manchester so special most of the people genuine friendly people I'm from Manchester and very proud."

Someone else added: " Amazing city with awesome friendly people."

Would you rank Manchester as high as 13th, or even higher? Let us know in the comments section.
