Thirty years after his death, the highest court in the Philippines has decided that former president Ferdinand Marcos will be buried in the Libingan ng mga Bayani (Heroes’ Cemetery) and given a “hero’s burial”.
Thousands of demonstrators whose families and friends experienced oppression and violence during his administration, have taken to the streets in opposition to the ruling.
If you’re Filipino tell us what you think. Do you agree with the ruling? Did you attend any protests? Do you know people who suffered under Marcos’ rule and are disappointed by the decision? Or do you think as a former president and member of the military he deserves to be buried in the Libingan ng mga Bayani?
