Do you recognise this man? Police release CCTV image after bus set on fire in Tameside

Police have released CCTV after a double decker bus was set alight in Dukinfield.

Passengers were forced to flee the burning Stagecoach 330 service which was travelling through Tameside at the time.

According to police, the bus had left Hyde bus station when the fire was started on the upstairs deck .

It was discovered by another passenger who alerted the driver and the bus was pulled over and evacuated.

Fire crews were called to the scene and put the fire out, but there was 'significant damage' to the bus.

Detectives are treating the incident - which happened at around 11.45pm on August 8 - as arson and have released an image of a man they want to speak to in connection with the fire.

Det Con Stephanie Ann Jones of GMP’s Tameside District said: "We’re continuing to appeal for information into this crime and have released a picture of a man we’d like to speak to.

"Do you recognise him? If so, please come forward as a matter of urgency."
