Do you need your polling card to vote in the General Election?

Election day is finally here.

You've probably made up your mind by now who to vote for, although  if you haven't you can check out our list of candidates here, and even have a look at the odds of them winning here.

And as long as you've registered to vote, you should have received your polling card through the post.

That will tell you which polling station you need to attend.

There are several things you can and can't do when you vote, which you can view here - but do you need your polling card to vote?

In some constituencies in the past, in a bid to rout out election fraud, voters have been required to bring their polling card to cast their vote.

But in Nottinghamshire this year that isn't the case.

You might want to take it because it will have specific information on where to vote, as some polling stations have separate rooms for people from different parts of the constituency to vote in.

But if you don't take your polling card you'll still be fine to vote in the 2019 General Election.
