'Do you know where your kids are?' - police message to parents after yobs go on the rampage in Bolton

A teenage boy has been arrested after a group of kids ran riot around the streets of Bolton.

According to police, vehicles and properties were damaged during the rampage on Saturday night.

Officers were called to the area around Longfield Park in Deane following multiple calls from those living nearby that a group of children - said to be aged between 12 and 16 - were causing trouble.

A 16-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of assault and affray in connection with the incident.

He has been released on bail pending further enquiries.

Following the trouble, officers from GMP Bolton took to social media to ask parents, 'do you know where your children are?'

The post said: "Tonight we have received a number of calls to the streets around Longfield Park off Hulton Lane in Deane, Bolton.

"Children aged 12-16 are running around causing damage to property and vehicles in the surrounding area.

"If your children are out and you think they may be involved, give them a call and get them home."

On Sunday, officers tweeted an update about the arrest.

It said: "Following an incident involving a number of youths on Longfield Road playing fields yesterday evening, a 16-year-old male was arrested on suspicion of assault and affray.

"He is currently on bail pending further enquiries. "
