Do you know these people? SA police release CCTV footage of stabbing suspect

Police have ramped up their pursuit of a man wanted over a stabbing in Adelaide, releasing CCTV footage of the alleged offender almost a month after the incident.

The stabbing happened near the intersection of Hindley Street and Clarendon Street in Adelaide's CBD just after 3:00am on Sunday August 12, police said.

Police said the victim became involved in an altercation with another man and was left with minor injuries to his leg, believed to be two small stab wounds.

The victim went to the Royal Adelaide Hospital for treatment and received stitches to his leg before being discharged.

The suspect was last seen running south along Clarendon Street.

Hindley Street is a hive of activity on weekends and is the main strip of the city's nightclub district.

The CCTV footage shows two people entering a fast food outlet at 2:40am.

Police described the suspect as of Caucasian appearance, about 175cm tall, with dark, shoulder length hair in a ponytail and a dark, reddish-brown full beard.

The suspect was in the company of a woman who is also pictured in the CCTV vision released by police.

She has been described as of Caucasian appearance, about 170-175cm tall with a slim to medium build and dark hair.

While police have sought information on both people in the footage, detectives would also like to speak to the driver of a small, light-coloured sedan that turned from Clarendon Street into Phillip Street following the incident.

Police said the suspect was believed to be running in the middle of the road in front of the vehicle.

Anyone who recognises the pair, or who has information that may assist police in its investigation, is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or online at www.crimestopperssa.com.au.
