Do you have footage? Police hunt brazen Heatherbrae arsonist who set three car fires

POLICE are hunting an arsonist who set fire to three vehicles in a quiet street at Heatherbrae in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Emergency services were called to a motel on Kingston Parade, Heatherbrae, about 1.20am on Saturday, following reports a car was well alight in the car park.

Fire and Rescue NSW attended and extinguished the blaze.

Then about 3am, emergency services were called to the same location following reports a second vehicle was well alight.

Fire crews attended and extinguished that blaze.

About an hour later, a third vehicle fire was reported and emergency services attended, with the blaze extinguished a short time later.

Officers attached to Port Stephens-Hunter Police District have commenced investigations into the cause of each of the suspicious blazes and detectives believe all three fires are linked.

Anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious in the area between midnight and 4am on Saturday, or who may have CCTV or dashcam footage from the nearby area around that time is urged to contact Maitland Police on 4934 0200 or to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
