Do you get paid to go on Love Is Blind – and where was season 3 filmed?

Season three of Love Is Blind has finally been released on streaming platform Netflix and it is set to be the most explosive yet as the pods return to the small screen.

On the show, a group of singles get to know each other before meeting outside of the pods to see whether love really is blind.

The successful couples will then become engaged before they tie the knot and go on to the couples retreat.

Unlike other reality TV shows, there isn't a big cash prize for couples at the end of Love Is Blind.

However, contestants do get paid to take part in the Netflix series.

According to Us Weekly, a lawsuit filed by season 2 contestant Jeremy Hartwell revealed in July 2022 that the Netflix show pays $1,000 (£885) per week, up to $8,000 (£7,080) for the length of filming the show.

The contestant filed the lawsuit against Netflix and the show's producers after claiming that working conditions were "inhumane."

One of the allegations in the suit was that the production paid “less than half of the applicable minimum wage rate of $15.00 per hour” in California.

The documents state: "Resultantly, these workers were effectively [paid] as little $7.14 per hour. … Less than one-third of the minimum overtime rate of $22.50 per hour, and less than one-fourth of the minimum double-time rate of $30.00 per hour pursuant to the applicable Los Angeles City and County minimum wage ordinances."

Kinetic, the production company behind Love Is Blind, said in a statement to Variety. “While we will not speculate as to his motives for filing the lawsuit, there is absolutely no merit to Mr. Hartwell’s allegations, and we will vigorously defend against his claims.”
