After dark, some of us become wary of leaving the safety of our homes, or workplaces. A lack of street lights, a fear of crime and how capable we believe we are at handling unknown threats can all be factors in how safe we feel walking outside at night.
Despite government measures to make areas more safe – increased police presence on the street and improved street lighting – some people are hesitant to put themselves in what they perceive as a dangerous situation: being outside at night.
We want to hear your thoughts on how safe do you feel your area is. Has anything happened to you to make you more or less fearful of being outside at night? Share your experiences with us by filling in the form below – you do not need to answer every question – and we’ll use a selection in our reporting.
