Do we need a Christmas lockdown?

Pressure is growing on the government to bring in a lockdown ahead of the Christmas period.

At the moment, there are no plans in place but Prime Minister Boris Johnson said he couldn't rule it out.

His statement comes as coronavirus infection rates are on the rise across Merseyside, with several boroughs seeing the numbers increase.

According to the latest data from Public Health England, Liverpool had 1,432 Covid infections in the seven days ending November 12 - that is 140 more cases than the previous seven days.

Knowsley had 570 positive tests in the seven days ending November 12 - that is 29 more cases than the previous seven days.

And Sefton had 1,134 positive tests in the seven days ending November 12 - that is 71 more cases than the previous seven days.
