'Do us a favour' - Portsmouth star's message to former Bristol Rovers teammates ahead of Barnsley

Tom Lockyer says he has already received messages from former Bristol Rovers defender Lee Brown ahead of a crucial final weekend of matches in League One.

Brown spent seven years at the Gas , making over 300 appearances for the club, before leaving last summer and joining Portsmouth.

He has helped his new side to a promotion fight in League One, and they currently sit third with two matches remaining, four points behind second-placed Barnsley with a game in hand.

Rovers secured their safety with Saturday's goalless draw against Fleetwood Town and now face Barnsley in their final game of the season on Saturday.

Captain Lockyer says his former teammate Brown has been keen to make sure Rovers do not treat their last game of the season lightly.

He told Rovers' media team: "Browny's already been on the messages to me saying 'come on, do us a favour'.

"It's not a case of the season's done now, we've got a game to go.

"Obviously it will be nice to enjoy it without pressure and it will be nice for the fans to enjoy it without pressure.

"At the end of the day we want to finish the season on a high and that will be trying to beat Barnsley."
