The Seahawks gave Jamal Adams a fat new contract and are engaging with Duane Brown to end his “hold-in,” the best way to describe showing up for training camp but not actually practicing.
Seattle may have another “hold-in” brewing in their starting free safety Quandre Diggs, who has not practiced the last three days. The first day, coach Pete Carroll said Diggs had a veteran day off. However, there’s been no word on why he’s missed the last two. Thanks to that string of absences and a couple of cryptic tweets, some folks are wondering if Diggs has a contract issue, as well.

Diggs is entering the final year of his contract, which will pay him $5.95 million this coming season. While he’s not a superstar safety like Adams, Diggs does deserve a new deal.
Since coming over in a trade with the Lions during the 2019 season, he has solidfied the back end of Seattle’s defense. Diggs has posted eight interceptions since the trade and played solid coverage in general. Adams and Diggs might make the best safety pair in football right now.
Hopefully Diggs is just nursing a minor injury and he’ll be available for Saturday night’s preseason finale against the Chargers. Either way, Diggs is worth keeping around. He was recently ranked among the NFL’s Top 100 players by his peers, coming in at No. 77 on the list.
