Do the Raiders have buyer’s remorse about WR Antonio Brown?

On Sunday afternoon, things appeared to reach a breaking point for Antonio Brown and the Oakland Raiders. General manager Mike Mayock spoke publicly about his frustrations regarding Brown, questioning whether he was fully committed to the Silver and Black.

Since forcing a trade from the Pittsburgh Steelers this offseason, Brown has completed just one practice with the Raiders, missing time because of a foot injury and a dispute over a banned helmet. His name is constantly in the news for things outside of what he does on the football field. So it’s fair to ask the question: Do the Raiders have buyer’s remorse when it comes to the trade for Brown?

That probably depends on whom you ask. Mayock seems less than enthused by the circus, while head coach Jon Gruden seems to care more about what the star receiver can do for his offense.

Ultimately, if Brown is on the field in Week 1 when the team takes on the Broncos, Gruden likely will be fine. That might not be the case for the front office.

One thing is for sure: Brown loves to be a star. We will see how much longer the team will put up with him dominating the headlines before it considers taking strong action to deal with the distractions.
