As an acne-prone gal, I’m no stranger to a pimple patch. Stickering my skin with an assortment of circles varying in size is my nightly ritual. So, when I saw people raving about The Breakout Hack’s (previously Tbh Skincare) new Ultra-Thin Invisible Patches ($19.95) all over my TikTok feed, I was intrigued.
The brand already had a bunch of pimple patches, but the ultra-thin ones are the latest (and thinnest) edition to the range. TikTok creators have been praising them as completely invisible, saying they can’t tell they’re wearing the patch once they’re on.
They also apparently layer smoothly underneath makeup — which, if you wear pimple patches during the day, know is bloody hard to come by. It always seeps underneath the pimple patch and makes it obvious that it’s there.
As I was sitting there, scrolling through all these reviews, I realised they all had one thing in common: they were all paid partnerships. And while I don’t think these content creators are liars, I’m always skeptical when it comes to skincare ads.
So, you best believe I got my hands on them to see for myself if they’re as good as TikTok says they are.
The Breakout Hack Ultra-Thin Invisible Pimple Patches: First Thoughts

Right off the bat, I love that the Ultra-Thin Invisible Pimple Patches come in a pack of 72. If you’re like me and go through packets quite quickly, you’ll know the pain of running out when you need them the most. That’s less likely to be an issue with The Breakout Hack’s pack!
When I got the pimple patches, I had a few whiteheads in desperate need of some coverage, so I went into the office bathroom and popped them on.
And what awaited me?
Disappointment.
Looking in the mirror, I could easily tell I was wearing pimple patches. The one on my cheek wasn’t too bad, but under my nose? Clear as day — at least to me.
I left the bathroom and went straight to my colleague, asking him if he saw anything on my face. And to my surprise, he said no! And that man looked hard.
A few days later, I gave the pimple patches another go. After all, my face is a great testing site.

This time, I didn’t apply it halfway throughout the day. It was first thing in the morning, after a freshly washed face, and to my surprise, the pimple patch applied a lot less visibly than the first time I used them — practically invisible. If I got superrrrr close to the mirror, sure, I could see it. But take a small step back? Nope! And I can typically see my other pimple patches from the same distance. I was pretty damn impressed.
To be honest, I think the first time around was my bad, since my face wasn’t entirely clean or oil-free before applying the pimple patch. Hey, we live and we learn!
Next, the makeup test.
I didn’t have high hopes, because every single pimple patch I’ve tried is visible under makeup — no matter how ‘hidden’ they claim to be.
However, The Breakout Hack’s? The closest to invisible I’ve tried.

Yes, they’re still visible. But it’s more of a ‘barely there’ vibe than a ‘I’m going to let everyone know you’re wearing a pimple patch’ type beat, which we love.
The Breakout Hack Ultra-Thin Invisible Pimple Patch: The Verdict
In terms of aesthetics, these are the best pimple patches for daily wear that I’ve used — and I’ve tried a lot. Are they completely invisible like the TikTok ads say? No. But they’re cutting it close.
As for effectiveness? They’re not half bad! If you’ve got a ready-to-pop whitehead, it’ll help suck out the pus thanks to its hydrocolloid properties, and you’ll find a white patch once you peel off the sticker. They’re not as effective as heavy duty PM pimple patches, but work better than a lot of the daytime ones I’ve tried.
They don’t really work on under the skin pimples, but are good to pop over the top if you find yourself picking at them. And at an affordable price point of $19.95, I’d say these are worth the hype.
