The Cincinnati Bengals jersey is one of the more polarizing things surroundings the team for its own fanbase.
Some love the design, others are ready for a change. Either way, the modern look trotted out by the Bengals these days didn’t pop up on the list of 25 most iconic uniforms from Touchdown Wire’s Barry Werner.
It is a shame, though not too surprising. The Bengals have tried to modernize with the times, going smaller and sleeker in most areas as the years progress. But some odd decisions — like the orange outline on the numbers — have drawn criticism in the past.
When the Bengals do their sleek, basic white and black color rush, it tends to garner a bunch of attention for its simplicity and good looks.
For what it’s worth, the iconic Bengals helmet did fare much better in a new ranking of team helmets. The visuals surrounding the Bengals have that going for them, at least.
