A carer was left “shocked” to find her car had been vandalised while she visited a patient in Prestwich. Stacey Reynolds made the discovery after leaving her vehicle partially parked on the pavement on Upper Wilton Street at around 6pm on Wednesday (June 8).
The 31-year-old had only been gone for around 15 minutes when she returned to find two messages written on her windows, reading: “Do not park like this!” and “pavements are for walking!”. Stacey, from Middleton, says she has parked in the area multiple times for work and has never had an issue before.
Speaking to the Manchester Evening News, the community care worker said: “I was shocked and just so angry that someone would do that to someone's car.
“I always park there and never had an issue before. It didn’t completely wipe off; it was some sort of white marker pen. I had to try and get off as much as I could and try to finish my shift and then I had to finish scrubbing it off when I finished work."
Stacey says the time she spent cleaning her windows made her late to her next patient visit. “I park slightly on the pavement to make room for cars to get through as this road can be a bit of a pain to get up and down," she went on.
"But I also make sure I left plenty of room for people to walk past. I didn’t expect to leave a visit to find this, which then made me late to my next call as I had to try and get it off."
