Do James Corden, Meryl Streep and Nicole Kidman actually sing in Netflix film The Prom?

The Prom is Netflix's brand new film set to bring a bit of singing and dancing back into our lives.

The film adaptation of the Broadway musical arrives on the streaming service today (December 11),  starring Meryl Streep, James Corden and Nicole Kidman.

The Netflix synopsis of the musical film reads: "A group of down-on-their-luck Broadway stars shake up a small Indiana town as they rally behind a teen who just wants to attend prom with her girlfriend."

As with any musical there's plenty of catchy numbers that will still be swirling round your head when you go to sleep and lots of energetic dance routines.

But a big question is, are the likes of Meryl, James and Nicole actually singing in the new movie?

According to the film's soundtrack, the actors are all credits as performers on the songs which suggests they are actually singing.

James is no stranger to belting out a tune having appeared in films Into the Woods and Cats.

He has also duetted with pop princess Kylie Minogue on her 2015 Christmas album.

Meryl is also a pro when it comes to a musical film having lead the cast in the popular Mamma Mia movie as Donna Sheridan. She was also in Into the Woods with James.

As for Nicole, the award-winning actress scored an Oscar nomination for her as a courtesan in the musical Moulin Rouge in 2001 and appeared in the 2009 Rob Marshall musical Nine.

The Prom will be Nicole's only film release of 2020.
