Council elections are happening today and you don't want to be that person who gets the fine just because you didn't know the rules.
As a bit of a rough guide, if you didn't vote in last year's local government elections because your council had amalgamated or was slated for a merger and was fighting it, you probably have to vote in this one.
If you've moved, then you'll need to work out where you're enrolled with the Australian Electoral Commission. Check the list below.
Remember, voting is compulsory if you are enrolled and you could be fined $55 if you don't.
It's actually a little bit harder to vote in a council election than it would be in a federal or state election.
Unlike with a federal election where the electorates often have a list of constituents in their neighbouring electorates, you can't go to a neighbouring council area to vote.
This is bad news if you've got all-day sports scheduled for Saturday in some far-off suburb or neighbouring town.

Well, it wouldn't be an Aussie election without ABC's election analyst Antony Green to keep you informed of the results.
He'll be updating that page with official results published from 6:00pm today.
