Do Debbie and Kevin die in the fridge on Coronation Street?

Coronation Street fans are fearing for siblings Debbie and Kevin Webster after the pair were left to perish in a fridge.

At the end of Monday night's double bill Corrie viewers were left wondering if the Websters would ever get out alive after they were trapped inside the bistro fridge by soap baddie Ray Crosby on Friday.

The warring brother and sister, who put aside their recent feud to share stories of their childhood, were last seen huddled together as Kevin sang the Abba hit Take a Chance on Me in an effort to keep them conscious.

The ITV soap then whipped viewers into a frenzy by posing on its official Twitter: "Will Debbie and Kevin make it out alive!?"

One fan replied: "They been there from Friday - can’t see them lasting until Wednesday."

"Of course they will, decided another viewer.

But they backtracked: "Although I am thinking Kevin will and she snuffs it."

Another tweeted: They will both be very lucky if they both come out alive."

Another fan said: "I hate that when you're at the edge of your sofa and think they are gonna be saved Corrie decides to leave us all in limbo. Roll on Wednesday."

And another soap watcher commented: "I love Debbie she liven things up and adds some much needed humour, hope she comes out alive and become a permanent character."

The duo ended up in the fridge after businessman Ray took revenge on his former right-hand woman Debbie for double-crossing him over his plot to buy up half the street.

On Wednesday the drama returns to the fridge as Debbie passes out.

And as the hypothermia takes hold, Kevin also slips into unconsciousness.

Thankfully there's good news as Kevin's girlfriend Abi Franklin comes to the rescue.

After breaking into the bistro and hearing a noise coming from the fridge, Abi realises with horror that there’s someone in there.

The mechanic smashes the door open with a crowbar and is horrified to find Kevin and Debbie slumped on the fridge floor.

As Kevin, played by Michael Le Vell, and Debbie are taken to hospital, Ray looks set to flee to Turkey as he faces an attempted murder charge.

And the terror turns to romance as Abi, played by Sally Carman, is overcome with emotion that her partner is still alive.

She gets down on one knee next to Kevin’s hospital bed and proposes.

And it seems that Debbie will be sticking around after her return to the cobbles last year.

It was recently reported that actress Sue Devaney will be staying on Coronation Street for another year after signing a major new contract.
