DLR delays: Misery for commuters as faulty train causes massive disruption

Commuters on London's Docklands Light Railway (DLR) faced rush-hour misery this morning.

There were severe delays between Bank and Tower Gateway and Woolwich Arsenal and Beckton.

The disruption was caused by a faulty train at West Silvertown, Transport for London (TfL) said.

It reportedly caused overcrowding at Woolwich Arsenal, which is at the end of two routes on the DLR.

And one commuter complained on Twitter that she had been waiting for 30 minutes at Pontoon Dock for a train "not packed in like sardines".

The delays ultimately eased just before 9.15am.
