DL Jonathan Bullard agrees to one-year contract to return to Cardinals

The Arizona Cardinals announced a pair of contract agreements on Monday. One was already reported in safety Chris Banjo. The other solidifies the defensive line rotation. The Cardinals agreed to terms on a one-year contract with defensive lineman Jonathan Bullard to return to the team for a second season.

Bullard was acquired on a waiver claim before last season and ended up being a starter. He played in nine games, starting six of them, before a hamstring injury landed him on injured reserve.

He had 22 tackles at 1.5 sacks, which was a career-high. He had four tackles for loss and seven quarterback hits.

His return solidifies the defensive line rotation. With Corey Peters returning and Jordan Phillips coming on a three-year deal, it means Bullard and 2019 third-round pick Zach Allen can compete for the starting job and the other is part of the rotation with Michael Dogbe and Miles Brown.

The Cardinals might not be done. They still could re-sign Zach Kerr, who played well after being signed during the season.
