Djed Spence snub sparks fury after Nottingham Forest message and Tottenham transfer

Djed Spence has caused uproar among Middlesbrough fans after failing to thank them on social media, following his move to Tottenham Hotspur.

The former Nottingham Forest loanee had his permanent move to north London confirmed on Tuesday morning and sent an emotional message of thanks to the Reds following last season's successful promotion campaign.

There was no mention of Boro, though, his parent club from whom Spence is joining Tottenham on a permanent basis. That has struck a nerve with a number of supporters, with a selection from social media for you to read below.

@kingswaymick : If only Forest thought the same of you, they might have signed you.

@Jinksyyyy : Said it before and i’ll say it again, you will never be fit to tie isaiah jones’ laces, now bring that moneyyy

@Sam_OUFC : Not even gonna thank your actual club?

@bartrumus1986 : Thanks for the 12 million. We’ve had spurs’ eyes out. League 2 by next august.

@KevinONeill19 : Thanking Forest but not Boro the ones who get the transfer fee

@xChloeL : No big emotional speech for the club you were actually with

@tommywalkerco : Djed, remember Boro set you on the path when you were released by Fulham. You did well at the start and needed a bit of a kick up the backside to develop hence why Warnock gave you the chance to go to Forest. It worked, you did well. But you need to thank Boro too. All the best
