Djed Spence 'decision' emerges as striker discusses Nottingham Forest transfer interest

Nottingham Forest look set to be dealt a major transfer blow, with Middlesbrough reportedly planning to recall Djed Spence next month.

The full-back, who is due to spend the season at the City Ground, has been in fine form for the Reds since joining in the summer, quickly becoming something of a fans’ favourite.

He has been a near ever-present in the starting XI, making 14 appearances, and found the back of the net in the 3-0 win over Birmingham City.

And it seems Forest supporters are not the only ones to have been impressed by his excellent performances.

Move scuppered

Striker Ali Al-Hamadi says he was set to join Nottingham Forest in the summer transfer window, only for a deal to break down.

The 19-year-old left Swansea City at the end of last season, having turned down the chance to sign a new contract.

Although a free agent, the Reds would have had to pay a compensation fee to their Championship rivals to sign him - something which proved to be a stumbling block to a move to the City Ground.

Al-Hamadi went on to have trials with Bournemouth, Derby County, Bristol Rovers and Stockport County before training with Wycombe Wanderers in October and eventually putting pen to paper.

Samba's belief

Goalkeeper Brice Samba says his confidence has always remained high, even when he had a dip in form for Nottingham Forest.

The 27-year-old has been back to his best in recent games, including putting in a standout performance against Luton Town last week.

But that hasn’t always been the case this season. Samba admits he had a tough start to the campaign - one which saw him dropped for what proved to be former boss Chris Hughton’s final game in charge.

He was relegated to the bench on that occasion as Ethan Horvath was handed his Championship debut for a 2-0 defeat at home to Middlesbrough.

Midfielder stance

Nottingham Forest-linked midfielder Jay Fulton is reportedly set to leave Swansea City in January.

It comes amid talk of a reunion with Reds head coach - and former Swans boss - Steve Cooper being on the cards.

Fulton has been struggling for regular game time as he finds himself down the pecking order in south Wales, making just six appearances so far this season.

But he had been a key figure while Cooper was in charge, playing his part in Swansea making it to the Championship play-off final last term.
