DJ Calvin Harris will never sing again on own tracks because of his 'dodgy' voice

Superstar DJ Calvin Harri s said he will never sing on one of his own tracks again because of his “dodgy” voice.

The multi-millionaire Dumfries -born music maestro admitted that he’s still amazed he got a record deal because of his poor vocals.

He said: “I just knew I could not carry on singing all the songs, so I had to do something.

“I am not a sentimental guy but occasionally, I do look back and think, ‘How on Earth did I get a record deal with that first album?’ The gods were smiling on me.”

Calvin, believed to be worth £230 million, is now focused on making the vocalists like Dua Lipa and Rihanna, the stars of his tunes rather than his riffs.

He added: “You have to work with good singers. They have got to be amazing.”

The superstar musician provided the vocals for all the tracks on his debut album I Created Disco, which included Acceptable in the 80s and The Girls.

He also sang on his 2009 songs Ready For The Weekend, I’m Not Alone and You Used To Hold Me and provided the vocals on 2014’s No1 hit Summer and 2016’s ‘My Way’.

The LA-based DJ, who lives with model girlfriend Aarika Wolf, has had two No1s with Rihanna including We Found Love.

He’s also written, produced or mixed songs for dozens of megastars include Kylie Minogue.
