Dizzee Rascal arrested

Dizzee Rascal was arrested this weekend, following an alleged incident involving a baseball bat.

The Mercury Prize winner was held on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon in Sevenoaks Way, Orpington.

BBC News reported that Rascal, whose real name is Dylan Mills, was brought in after a road rage incident. The rapper allegedly approached another motorist with a baseball bat – and probably not to discuss the latest Yankees game.

The incident took place at around 3.30pm on Friday.

Mills, 24, was taken to a south London police station and later released on bail, BBC News reported. He will be expected to return later this month.

Mills had a previous run-in with the law in March 2005. Police stopped a car in which he was a passenger, searching both him and the 34-year-old driver. Mills was found to be carrying pepper spray – a section five firearm – while the driver was in possession of pepper spray, an ASP baton and cannabis. Both men were arrested.

Dizzee Rascal's spokesperson had no official comment on this weekend's incident, nor the most recent Major League Baseball season.
