DIY savvy mum turns old door into stunning dining table

A DIY fan has won praise for her "beautiful and unique" dining room table that she made out of an old door.

Louise Law was determined to get herself something no one else has for wining and dining her guests - so she decided to make it herself.

After painting the old wooden door Louise then used decopatch method to add a touch of colour before enlisting the help of a joiner pal to help create the legs.

The table top was then finished off with custom made glass and the results have astonished fellow mums.

Louise said: "Decided I wanted a new dining table but without the expense and it had to be unique.

So got an old door sprayed it and painted it, then used Decopatch paper to design the outer edge in marble.

"My friend made the industrial legs and the joiner cut out where the push handle and key closer would be. Custom made glass and it's complete!!!! Worked out about £260 as the glass was the most expensive piece.
