DIY ace shows banana hack which will help your plants grow quicker

If you keep plants in your home you'll know that they require a good amount of maintenance to grow - even the ones that are less fussy won't grow bigger and flourish without the proper nourishment. One DIY expert has suggested a hack involving a banana that will help you get the most out of your plants.

Adding that it will also allow you to reduce waste said the man - named Armen Adamjan - who shared his tips with his millions of followers on TikTok. The video has been seen more than half-a-million times and has been liked more than 50,000 times; it also features more than 300 comments from intrigued TikTok users.

Posting under the username @creative_explained, he advised putting a banana peel into boiling water, and using that water for your houseplants in the video. He says that this will "boost your plants’ growth" thanks to all of the nutrients in the peel, allowing you to get more out of something that you might have otherwise thrown away.

Armen starts: "When you eat a banana and get to that last bite ... don't throw it out! Instead put it in a cup, add some hot water and let it sit for about an hour."

He jokingly says that the process 'nutrifies' plants, going on to explain: "Potassium, phosphorus, calcium [and] magnesium is being released into the water. In simple words these are things that plants need to flourish; grow healthier, and stronger.

"Feed your plants with this simple homemade fertiliser once a week and your plants will love you. Make this a habit, part of your everyday routine - I mean it only takes about 10 more seconds than throwing it out"

He then signs off by saying: "Reduce food waste and keep your plants happy. Banana water is magic!"

Commenters on the video have said that they have tried his tricks, with one saying: "all my plants are BEAUTIFUL AND HAPPY" while another said: "thank you for all the plant tips my basil is growing better".

A third joked: "His plants are very lucky"

Others were having a little bit of fun in the comments, with one asking users to jog his memory, saying: "Remind me and I’ll do it in the morning", while another quipped: "If i drink it will i get super powers?"
