Divock Origi's striking new look as Liverpool striker follows in Paul Pogba's footsteps

Divock Origi has shaved off the dreadlocks and opted for a striking new haircut ahead of Liverpool's next match.

The Belgian striker, whose dreads have been central to his image, divided fans with his transformation.

Opting for a low fade haircut, Origi's tapered cut starts just above the ear and neckline.

Texture has been added on the sides giving a thicker look, whilst a thin bald strip runs across his scalp.

The 24-year-old chose A Star Barber in Chessington to overhaul his appearance - this is the same barber Manchester United's Paul Pogba and Jesse Lingard use.

Uploading a picture to Instagram, Origi was flooded with comments from his Liverpool and Belgian teammates.

Dejan Lovren said: "C caaa mon gaaa", whilst Mousa Dembele wrote: "Voila I mean that."

However Liverpool supporters couldn't decide whether to embrace the new look or mourn his dreads.

One wrote: "Long overdue! Great look @DivockOrigi #papafresh."

Jenna said: ".....Have y’all seen Divock Origi? Lowkey miss the dreads but okokok."

Another fan commented: "Needed first aid treatment for cuts after witnessing the sharpness of Divock Origi’s trim."

And Dan said: "Champions League defences ain’t ready."
