Diversity's Perri Kiely shouted at in street after being dared to wear Sunderland top in Newcastle

Diversity star Perri Kiely was a brave man earlier this week as he wore a Sunderland top in the heart of Newcastle, after taking on a very risky dare and bearing the brunt of Geordies' very vocal reactions.

Perri, who triumphed on Britain's Got Talent alongside fellow dancers Ashley and Jordan Banjo back in 2009, as Diversity b eat favourite Susan Boyle in the final; was up in the North East as the dance phenomenon performed at Sage Gateshead on their latest tour.

The Dancing on Ice finalist and Celebs Go Dating star is also a presenter on KISS FM, as is Jordan and the pair are currently in the middle of a huge game of Truth or Dare. Each week one of the duo has to take on a challenge set by a listener, which has previously resulted in Jordan take on his fear of asparagus live on TV as well as last week getting the Kiss logo tattooed onto his leg.

Perri wearing a Sunderland top outside of Newcastle United' s famous ground St James' Park came about thanks to a suggestion from listener Amelia Dimoldenberg and, true to his word, Perri went along with it, risking the wrath of any Geordies who spotted him.

And, as well as posing outside St James' Park, Perri took the dare further by heading into the city centre and into Newcastle's Grainger Market, where a butcher jokingly went at him with a cleaver after spotting the red and white stripes of the Magpies' arch rivals. Another market stall holder told Perri to "get out of town," before a man came up to him on Grey Street to say: "I hope you get beat at the weekend mate!"

In a video uploaded to Kiss FM's Instagram, Jordan tells Perrie: "You got shouted at, we nearly got things thrown at us," As Perri replies: "Completed it!" Perri's dare came after Newcastle pulled off a terrific 2-0 win against Arsenal at SJP on Monday night and before Sunderland aim to make it out of League One by beating Wycombe Wanderers in this Saturday's play off final at Wembley.
