Bristol Airport traffic warning as five-day diversion put in place for Swing Bridge closure

The m2 and Bristol Airport Flyer services will be diverted next week for inspection works on the Ashton Avenue Swing Bridge.

The guideway and road leading to the bridge will be closed to buses from 6am on July 9 until 6am on July 12, however pedestrian and cycling routes will remain open and accessible to the public.

The m2 bus service will divert via Cumberland Road and Brunel Way in both directions, before re-joining its normal route.

The A1 will also operate the same diversion, however will include Colliters Way (A4174) before re-joining its usual route.

The following stops are set to close in both directions:

  • Cumberland Basin
  • Ashton Gate
  • Ashton Vale
  • Brookgate (North Somerset)

Real time information messages and signage at the stops will direct passengers to the nearest operational stop during the closure.
