Diversion in place on Easter Road in Leith after collision involving cyclist

Traffic is being diverted on Easter Road following a crash involving a cyclist.

There are delays in Leith this evening following an incident on the corner of Dalmeny Street and Easter Road.

In a photo sent to Edinburgh Live, a cyclist can be seen lying by the roadside with police officers speaking to possible witnesses at the scene.

It is thought the incident took place at around 3:30 pm this afternoon but reports suggest a diversion remains in place this evening.

One passerby said on Twitter shortly before 5pm: "Looks like there has been a nasty accident on Easter Road.

"Police diversion in place just after Lidl."

The extent of the cyclists' injuries are so far not known.

Edinburgh Live have contacted Police Scotland for comment. We'll bring your more on this as we get it.
