Divers have tragically found the body of missing two-year-old Ruben Scott.
Little Ruben Scott was last seen by his mother Natasha on Tuesday evening playing with a puppy near his home on a remote cattle station in Western Queensland, Australia.
Chief Superintendent Brian Huxley said the discovery “is just a pure tragedy” and Ruben’s family are absolutely devastated, as are all the people involved in the search.
He added: "Probably one of the saddest parts is that, as big as the station is, as intense and as comprehensive as the search was, the reality is that he was located only 100 metres away.”
Supt Huxley said the area was home to many predator including crocodiles, dingoes and wild pigs.
While he did not disclose cause of death, he said the possibility of crocodiles “probably doesn’t come into play here.”
