A diver was rescued after getting into difficulty off a Sunderland pier.
Emergency services were called to Roker Pier on Sunday after reports of a diver getting into difficulty.
Sunderland Coastguard, Seaham Coastguard and RNLI - Sunderland Lifeboat Station recovered the casualty using a dive vessel.
The diver was then transferred to the Sunderland Lifeboat who brought the casualty to the marina.
The crew was met by the Coastguard officers and paramedics from the North East Ambulance Service.
A Sunderland Coastguard spokesman said: “Paramedics transferred the diver to hospital for further treatment.”
