Disturbing video shows boy, 15, stabbed repeatedly by attacker in broad daylight

A stranger repeatedly stabbed a 15-year-old boy during an attack in broad daylight.

The victim was recorded sat on a scooter when a man approached him from behind in the Bronx, New York.

A fight soon erupted and during the violence, the man was stabbed 'multiple times', police said.

Now, officers are hunting for the attacker after the incident that took place last month.

The New York City Police Department said in an appeal via social media: "Wanted for assault, do you know this guy?

"On February 24 at about 2:53 PM, on the corner of 179 St and University Ave in the Bronx, the suspect stabbed a 15-year-old male victim multiple times before fleeing. "

The disturbing footage, released by cops in their appeal, shows how the fight soon led to a knife attack.

After the teenager was knocked to the floor the video appears to show the attacker brandish the weapon before lunging at the victim repeatedly.

Police were reported to have said that the attacker stabbed his victim three times with the blade. He then fled the scene and nothing was stolen.

According to the New York Post, officers said the victim was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital, and has since been treated and released.

The attacker was described as being in his 20s, around 5-foot-8 and weighing about 72kg, with a small build and black hair, cops said.

He was last seen wearing a black hooded jacket, a grey hooded sweat jacket, grey pants, a black surgical mask and sneakers.

Crime has been soaring in the major US city and the New York Times reports that last year there were 447 murders, making 2020 the deadliest year in nearly a decade.
