'Disturbance' in Glasgow's Shettleston leaves man hospitalised with serious head injuries

A man is in hospital with serious head injuries after a 'disturbance' in Glasgow's east end.

Emergency services raced to Shettleston Road near the junction with Fenella Street, in Shettleston, at around 5.35pm on Saturday.

They found a 41-year-old man who was seriously injured .

The man was treated for a head injury at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital (Victoria Stewart)

He was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition.

Police are are working to identify a man and a woman seen in the area at the time of the incident.

The man is described as being white, Scottish and of slim build.

He was in his twenties and was wearing a distinctive blue jacket.

The woman is described as being white, Scottish and of slim build.

She was also in her twenties and was wearing a red or burgundy coloured jacket.

Police are now appealing for information (Stuart Vance)



Detective Sergeant Chris Lafferty said: "We would urge anyone who was in the area who may have information to let us know if you haven't already spoken to a police officer.

"I would also ask anyone who may have private CCTV or dashcam footage to review this and let us know if you find anything of note.

"You can call Police Scotland on 101 with any information, quoting incident 2723 of 11 January, or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
