Disturbance at Cardonald flat sparks emergency response

Armed police have rushed to high-rise flats in Cardonald amid reports of a disturbance.

A man is understood be throwing items from a high-rise flat window in Queensland Court.

One eyewitness spotted the incident and told Glasgow Live that the building has been taped off. Others on social media have spotted up to 20 officers at the scene.

Ambulances were seen heading to the flats and a number of police cars are stationed in the area.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "A report was received of a disturbance at a property at Queensland Court in the Cardonald area Glasgow around 1:45pm on Sunday 9 August.

"Emergency services remain in attendance. The incident is contained to a single property and there is no risk to the wider community."
