A distressing video has emerged showing a helpless dog dragging its injured body across a kitchen floor after being smacked in a Dublin hit and run.
The poor pup was knocked down by a careless driver in a harrowing crash in Ballyfermot last night.
Luckily for the Jack Russell Terrier, he was rescued a short time later before being reunited with his owners who brought him straight to the vet.
But these were the heartbreaking scenes before the poor pup got help, as its restless body glided up and down the kitchen floor pulling its wounded back legs behind.
The pooch was looked after in a nearby Ballyfermot house by Michelle Gavin until the owners were contacted.
She told Dublin Live: "I think he was knocked down in Ballyfermot. I found the dog running up and down, it was still in shock I think.
"I went and picked the dog up myself and brought it into my house.
"My sister works for My Lovely Horse Rescue and was going to bring the dog to the vet but we got in contact with the owners and they showed up.
"I hope it will be okay. The owners said they would let me know how it gets on in the vets.
