The footage was taken by an eyewitness in their car outside the Hippy Chippy takeaway near Martyrs' Sandyford Church which is being used as a polling station today.

The victim was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital after the incident.

A 26-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident.

Officers are treating the assault as a targeted attack and it is not related to the election.

Detectives have appealed for witnesses to come forward after enquiries established the two men were known to each other.
