'Distressing' early morning raids on Kilmarnock homes sees vehicles stolen

Ayrshire residents have been left "distressed" after raids on their homes in the early hours morning saw vehicles stolen.

Police say assailants broke into properties on Baleshrae Crescent and Woodlands Grove in Kilmarnock and vehicles were stolen from each property.

Cops are now appealing for CCTV footage following the raids in the early hours of the morning of Friday, October 1.

Officers are asking residents who have dashcam footage or may have seen suspicious activity in the area around that time to come forward.

Officials have confirmed that one of the vehicles has been recovered.

A Police Scotland statement reads: "Those affected are understandably distressed by the crimes committed however they and members of the public can be assured that enquiries are ongoing to recover property and trace those responsible.

"Anyone with information is encouraged to contact 101 and quote incident number 0525 of October 1. Thank you."
