Emergency services rushed to a house in Bangkok's Khannayao district after a report a distressed woman holding a baby was threatening to jump off a building.
The woman identified only as Noi was sitting on the edge of the roof of a three-storey building holding an eight-month baby when police arrived. She was distraught over her troubled relationship, Thai media reported.
The area was sealed off and people were asked to keep at a distance to avoid adding tension as police to calm the woman.
An air cushion was deployed below and a rescue hydraulic platform was called in.
Quoting witnesses, police said the woman, 32, was a native of Nakhon Sawan and she had a fight with her boyfriend before she walked up to the rooftop with her baby.
