Distraught sister of missing Dublin mum struggles to makes sense of disappearance 11 years later

Today marks the 11 year anniversary since Esra Uyrun went missing from her home in Clondalkin.

The mum-of-one was last seen leaving her home in Collinstown Grove on February 23 2011 at 7.15am.

Her car was later found in Bray, Co. Wicklow.

Esra's family cannot find any answers as to what happened to her. That day she left behind her then aged two-year-old son and husband.

Heartbroken Berna Fidan spoke to Dublin Live last year on the long painful search for her sister.

She told Dublin Live: "It is so out of character for her to just disappear. She had a two and a half year old son that she would never leave behind.

"So, in my heart of hearts I still believe something happened to her that she was either taken or she was stopped or something because she was such a people's person. She would help anybody."

Esra's car, purse and telephone were found in Bray but Berna thinks something was amiss as her telephone and purse were found in the boot of her car which made no sense to Berna.

She said: "The only trace we have ever found is her car in Bray but nothing else of hers ever got found in Bray."

"She only walked out with her phone and her purse, which is smaller than a telephone. Why would anybody put it in the boot of the car? That is why I have always questioned, did they put her in the boot of the car and it fell out of her pocket?"

The family have "driven themselves insane" thinking and rethinking what could have happened to Esra.

Berna said: "We just don't know. So many things go through our brains. You build up all these different scenarios that could have happened which makes it even worse because you are just driving yourself insane."
