Devastated parents have paid an emotional tribute to their paramedic daughter who died in a horror crash between an ambulance and a cement lorry just weeks after qualifying as an emergency responder.
Alice Clark, 21, was killed when the emergency vehicle she was travelling in collided with a lorry on the A21 in Kent yesterday evening.
The newly qualified paramedic died at the scene while two other medics were rushed to hospital with serious injuries. The lorry driver only had minor wounds, police said.
This evening it emerged Ms Clark only joined South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb) in November.
Her grief-stricken parents said in a joint statement today: "Alice was so excited to qualify as a paramedic and looked forward to every shift.
"She was a beautiful, kind, fun loving daughter, sister and granddaughter. She loved to travel and anyone who met her loved her.
"She will be missed more than words can say by family and friends."
Following the crash, a male paramedic was airlifted to Kings College Hospital in London with multiple injuries, while a student paramedic was taken to hospital with a head injury.
Giovanni Mazza, manager of the Paddock Wood Operating Unit where Ms Clark was based, added: "Although she had only been with us for a short time, Alice was already very much part of our ambulance family and will be remembered as a kind and dedicated paramedic.
"She will be deeply and sadly missed by her colleagues and we're sending our love and prayers to her family and friends during this horrendous time."
Kent Police launched an investigation and are looking for witnesses to come forward, especially anyone who may have dashcam footage of the incident.
