Distraught Barcelona fans show their class as they cheer You'll Never Walk Alone after Liverpool victory

It certainly wasn't the result they travelled from Spain to witness.

But Barcelona fans were still able to show their class as they cheered on You'll Never Walk Alone at full time at Anfield on Tuesday evening.

A truly special comeback from Liverpool saw the hosts recover a 3-0 deficit from the first leg to edge out their vaunted visitors 4-0 thanks to a brace apiece from Divock Origi and substitute Gini Wijnaldum.

It will go down as one of the most memorable evenings in Anfield's storied history and the home side's players were keen to soak up their deserved adulation at full time.

As they saluted the Kop for helping them to a remarkable turnaround, You'll Never Walk Alone could be heard sweeping through the famous old stadium.

And while Reds fans stayed the course to bask in the glow of a night that will be talked about for generations, so too did the travelling Barca support.

The Catalan fans showed their ability to be magnanimous in defeat by applauding their hosts as the most iconic anthem in football played Jurgen Klopp's players off the pitch.

Liverpool will meet Spurs in the final in Madrid on June 1 after the Londoners fought back from two goals down inside the final half-hour to go through against Ajax on away goals.

Goals from Matthijs De Ligt and Hakim Ziyech had given Ajax a 3-0 lead on aggregate before a Lucas Moura hat-trick broke Dutch hearts in Amsterdam.
