Distinctive 'OOT NOO' van containing charity donations stolen from Leith Walk area

A distinctive van with the words "oot noo" written on it has been stolen from the Leith Walk area – with police keen to hear from anyone who thinks they've seen it in the last few days.

The Ford Transit vehicle, which belongs to a rubbish and junk removal firm, was taken while parked on Lorne Street this week. Edinburgh Police Division say the theft happened some time between Monday (13 April) and Wednesday (15 April). It has registration SG13 AJX.

OotNoo posted on social media that the van contained some charity donations and other items set for recycling. They say the contents have since been tipped out in the Tranent area, and they have been left "devastated" by the theft.

They added: "OotnoO temporarily closed on 16th March and the van was full of contents ready for recycling and charity donations at a safer time. None of this would have went to landfill."

Officers want anyone who knows where it might be to get in touch with them on the 101 number.

Police said: "Anyone who may have seen the van since it was stolen, or has information on its current whereabouts, is urged to contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting incident number 0789 of 15 April 2020, or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
