This is the cherry on the cake of a very upsetting week, particularly for Princess Diana fans.
The sons she adored, divided.
Vague plans to speak in the future, but as yet, despite an unarguably enormous five days for their family, no contact.
It’s heartbreaking.
Diana’s boys have always been very much a double act.
They were playmates as children due to the two-and-a-bit year age gap, and then united by the devastating blow life dealt them ages 15 and 12.

No-one but each other could truly understand what they had been through.
They were close, and it showed.
Images of them together were always a joy to see, as a nation we rooted for them, took pride in the men they were evolving into.
Then two became three, as William’s wife Kate appeared to take the role of the sister Harry never had.

The bond between the trio was obvious, jokey, easy.
And when Harry married Meghan, we had The Fab Four… for a while, anyway.
Now everything is broken, splintered off into different directions, the distance between the brothers apparently far wider than the ocean which physically separates them.
Of all the hopes we hold for this family now, all the healing that clearly needs to take place, this rift being repaired must be a priority.
Just because it sounds trite doesn’t mean it isn’t true: this is not what she would have wanted.
