Disruption to railways expected over next three weeks due to repairs

Travellers have been warned to expect delays and disruptions on the railway over the next three weekends.

Services from Bristol Temple Meads will be affected while Network Rail carry out essential maintenance work.

Bridges near Weston-super-Mare and Worle are being repaired and part of the railway at Flax Bourton is being renewed.

The main areas of the network expected to experience delays are between Bristol, Weston and Taunton.

There will be buses to replace trains between those areas on Saturday, September 28 and Sunday 29, October 6 and October 13.

Cross Country trains between Bristol Temple Meads and Taunton will be diverted.

Network Rail say this diversion will add up to an hour to the normal journey time.
