Disruption on A9 as police deal with 'multi-vehicle' collision

UPDATE: The road is now open again in both directions.

PEOPLE travelling on the A9 are facing disruption this morning following a “multi-vehicle” collision.

Emergency services were called to the road near Daviot at around 7.20am on Thursday.

Drivers are being urged to take care by Traffic Scotland as “wintry conditions” cause some disruption.

The latest update from Traffic Scotland, posted on Twitter/X at 9.15am, said: “The #A9 at Daviot remains CLOSED southbound due to an earlier collision.

“The earlier collision northbound has been cleared with the northbound carriageway now open."

Police also confirmed they were dealing with a “multiple-vehicle collision” and a spokesperson added: “Officers are on scene and will try to clear the road as quickly as possible.

“There is a lot of black ice this morning, please drive with care.”
