A disqualified driver raced a car through the streets of Dumbarton and Bonhill at up to 90mph – crashing into a vehicle carrying two children.
Fahim Rahman appeared in Dumbarton Sheriff Court last week where he was told he was “extremely lucky” not to be jailed.
The court heard how two children were left “shocked” and in tears after he crashed into a car they were in.
Rahman pled guilty to a series of dangerous driving offences on March 23, 2019 during which he collided with a police vehicle in Dumbarton before causing a collision with another car user and a parked car in Bonhill.

Rahman, who also pled guilty to driving while disqualified and without insurance, had been disqualified from driving for 28 months at the time,
The 24-year-old admitted driving dangerously on the A82, Lomondgate and Barloan Roundabouts, A813 and in the Nobleston, Redburn and O’Hare areas of Bonhill.
The charge stated that Rahman overtook vehicles on the nearside of the A82 at the Esso garage in Milton before driving through a red light and overtaking cars via the A814 sliproad.
He then drove at speeds exceeding 90mph, overtaking other road users and travelled between lanes before braking harshly when he approached Dumbarton Police Station.
As a result, a police vehicle collided with the back of his car.

When Rahman approached Barloan Roundabout, he moved from lane three to lane one before running a red light onto the A813 at up to 60mph.
Rahman continued to speed through roundabouts next to Vale of Leven Industrial Estate overtaking cars before speeding through Nobleston and Redburn estates.
He then caused his car to mount the pavement before rejoining the A813, overtaking cars on the opposite carriageway.
Rahman then mounted the pavement again at Breahead Estate and travelled into the opposing carriageway before colliding with parked cars and a car being driven by a woman, who the court later learned had two children in the back.
He committed the offences while on bail for another matter and his defence agent told the court Rahman has five other court dates in the next two months.

Fiscal Depute Gemma McKechnie added: “There were two children in one of the vehicles. They were extremely shocked and were crying.”
His defence agent told the court: “It’s an offence which...he is under no illusion merits a custodial sentence.
“In relation to the offence it was severe panic more than anything else.
“This is alternatively quite an intelligent gentleman from a respectful family with good qualifications.”
Addressing Rahman, of Kirkintilloch, Sheriff Derek Hamilton said: “To collide with cars and people through the rush hour traffic, given this situation you are extremely lucky not to go to jail.”
Rahman was placed on a restriction of liberty order for four months, ordering him to remain at home between 9am and 6am.
He was also placed under supervision for 12 months, ordered to complete 200 hours of unpaid work and disqualified from driving for five years.
