Disqualified driver caught travelling from London to Glasgow in middle of night flaunting lockdown

A disqualified driver was caught by police after attempting to travel from London to Glasgow in the middle of the night, flaunting the coronavirus lockdown rules.

Cumbria Roads Police shared a photo of the vehicle they pulled over on the M6 motorway at 2am, understood to be yesterday morning.

The police issued the disqualified driver with 'top tips' in a comment on Twitter, including 'don't drive', 'don't drive during lockdown when there's far fewer vehicles on the road' and 'don't drive London to Glasgow in a car at 2am when the only other vehicles on the road are HGVS and us!'.

Yesterday, Glasgow Live reported on a similar incident involving Cumbria Roads Police after they alerted the public to a carful of four men who were making the return trip to Glasgow following a family gathering in London. Each of the four men were fined for breaching coronavirus lockdown guidelines.
